Pretty Funny

Jodi, the anchorwoman, found this neither funny nor cool.

Ten Great Years

Do you know what today is? It's our 10 year anniversary. Ten years ago today I made Beth the happiest woman in the world, and she made me the happiest man. I am so lucky to have married such an incredible person, she works so hard each day so that I can stay home with Libby. I am looking forward to the next 10 years. Posted by Picasa

Eleven Months Young

Libby is 11 months old today. She is turning into such a fine young woman. She is now walking with one hand while using her walker. Her first tooth is all the way in and she now can add single digits in her head.

River Walk

Saturday morning we decided to head downtown and go to the Mud Island Mississippi Riverwalk. It is a 5 block long scale replica of the Mississippi River. Every 30 inches of the model equals 1 mile and for each 1 inch deep it equals 5 feet of depth.

If you look at the far right dot on the map of Iowa, that shows Lock and Dam #8 in Bellevue, IA where my Dad grew up.

On a hot Memphis day it feels great to wade around.

Libby thought she was a giant. We thought the rough bottom would hurt her feet, but she didn't seem to mind at all.

At each major city along the Mississippi they have a map of the city .

Libby and I are standing at the exact point in Memphis where our house is.
Libby got her diaper soaking wet while wading throught the "river". So we took her dress off and let her crawl around with her bottle looking like a "trail-trash" baby.

Show-Off

Here is Beth's sister Laura showing-off her new camera. Her husband told her it was a disposable camera, so after she took all her pictures, she threw it away. Posted by Picasa

Feeding Dad

Interesting Factoid #3

I have been to every single one of my 9 nieces and nephews (on my side of the family) first birthday parties. As Arsenio Hall would say, "That's one of the things that make you say Hmmmm".

So Relaxing

One of my favorite times I get to spent with Libby is when I get to put her to bed. She smells so fresh after her bath and as you can see by her belly, she loves to be fed. It is so relaxing that I sometimes fall asleep before she does. Posted by Picasa

Hand Face

Libby woke up the other day from a nap with a huge handprint on the side of her head. At first I thought Uncle Will had played "I can make your hand smell like an orange" and then when Libby went to smell it he slammed it into her face.
But upon further investigation, and knowing that Will wasn't within 700 miles of Memphis, I concluded that she had just slept on her hand during her afternoon nap.

Dirty....Nasty...

Libby has become such a dirty eater. The mess on her face, bib, and tray consists of cheese, guacamole, sour cream, apple sauce and a little yogurt.

Libby Rides a Horsey

Libby's Papa made her a rocking horse before she was even born. On my last road trip to Michigan I was able to pick it up and ride it back down to "The Dirty Dirty". As you can see she loves riding on it and pulling it's mane and tail.
Look Papa, one hand!

The Rat Killer

Our minature weiner dog Stretch killed a rat today. He has been going outside and barking at our shed alot lately, I would open the shed up and nothing would be in there. Well today he was barking and scratching at the door so I went out there to yell at him. He was standing over the dying rat barking his head off. I brought him inside and waited an hour or so to let the rat die. When I came back out the rat had turned around in his dying throes and I could see the wet area were Stretch must have gotten him by the haunches and broken his back. Beth suggested that I should have let Stretch eat the rat like G. Gordon Liddy would have, but instead I threw it over the neighbors fence. Posted by Picasa

Funny Face with Bad Hair

This is Libby's new face that she likes to do when she is happy and concentrating on something. I was taking some pictures of her "bad hair day" when I caught it.

Libby and I went to the zoo today so I had to apply sunscreen all over her. It got in her hair and when we came home I used a washcloth to clean her up. It caused her hair to stand up and look like her cousin Bender's.

Family Pictures

While we were getting Libby's pictures taken we decided we would get the first ever Kurt Family Photo taken also.

There were other photos taken that were much better, but for some reason I don't have them on my computer right now, so they will be posted later.

Nine Month Pictures

Last Saturday we got Libby's 9 month pictures taken, we were a little late in doing it so they are technically her 10 month pictures. Once again we went to The Picture People and had great luck there, they do such a better job than Sears.

If you notice it looks like she is clapping her hands alot in the pictures. This is because one of easiest ways to get her to smile and laugh is to sing "If you Happy and You Know It". She the proceeds to clap her hands and smile 90% of the time.

UnBreak My Heart

It has been a few weeks since I last blogged. I stopped for a while because of a crushed spirit. Will, who I have treated like a brother for years said some very mean things on his blog about me for no apparent reason. Here is what he said:
"I guess I should start posting recipes or totally devote all content to Libby in order to make it interesting to you. I'll rename it the, "I'm Daddy, but you can call me 'Mommy' Blog."
Will, I guess if you want I will try to just talk about myself in my blog like you do.
