Shorty Got Low

Libby and Reagan's favorite new song is Low by Flow Rider (featuring T-Pain). While Reagan is dancing to the song Libby can be heard in the background singing. Reagan has been practicing for weeks on getting "low".

Reagan's 9 month Pictures

We were suppose to get Reagan's 9 month pictures taken last week, but 3 hours before the appointment we decided that Reagan was being to much of a stink. So we rescheduled them for today. Reagan was her usual smiley self and loved to give big grins for the photographer.

Since we were going to be at the studio anyway we decided to get the girls Easter Pictures taken also. Both girls did great and we had a hard time choosing which pictures to purchase. If you want you can see all 86 pictures taken here.

Splashing Reagan

Reagan's new favorite thing to do is to splash in the tub. This after we just taught Libby NOT to splash in the tub.

Almost There

Libby is on the way to being potty trained. Last week we told her that if she went 5 days without any accidents while wearing big girl underwear (panties) she would get a doll house. She has been wanting a doll house ever since she played with one over at her cousin Allie (Allvie as she is called in the South). Libby did amazing and only had one poopie accident because she was to busy coloring to run and go poop (we did catch it half way and got some in the potty). Libby will go to the bathroom on the toilet on demand, but is still not great at telling us when she has to go to the bathroom.

Reagan thought the doll house was pretty cool also.

Walkin' Reagan

We got Libby's old walker out and Reagan went to town. She grabbed hold and started walking back and forth across the room. Reagan does great for about 5 seconds and then she takes a tumble.

Bad Hair Day

Reagan woke up from her afternoon nap with the worst hair. The rest of the day we called her "Spike".

No Appreciation

Today is Doctor Appreciation Day and Beth received no calls from her family letting her know how much they appreciate her. I guess Beth will think twice next time she gets a phone call from them asking for medical advice or a prescription.

Shop til you drop

Last weekend Beth and her sisters did their best to stimulate the economy. Beth and Laura flew up to Minnie to go clothes shopping with Errin. Thanks to Minnesota's lack of sales tax on clothing, the girls got lots of bargains. This was my Christmas present to Beth. I used my frequent flier miles to send her up there and I stayed with the kids for 5 LONG DAYS. Beth had to use her own money for clothes shopping.
Beth had a great time hanging out with her sisters and Rudi. She was very lucky and did not get bit by Obie (I wish Rudi could say the same thing).

Standing Around

For the past week or so Reagan has started to stand on her own. She started off standing for a few seconds but now is up to over a minute. She does best when she has two toys in her hands and isn't thinking about it to much.

Stink-Tooth

About 2 weeks after Libby's fall her front tooth started to turn gray. In the medical community it is known as a "stink-tooth". Her dentist told us that there is nothing wrong with the tooth (other then it looking bad) and that we can either wait until she is 6 and it falls out naturally, or we can have a mini-root canal performed to fix the blood vessel. Beth and I can't stand looking at the tooth so we will probably have the root canal done. Since odds are this will be quite expensive, we are hoping that Libby's GREAT AUNT Gail, who will be going to dental school this fall would take this case on pro bono.

Winter Wonderland

Since this is our third and final winter in Memphis, it was nice to see what a real winter storm was like down here. It was all that anyone talked about for the past 3 days. I figured as usual we would end up with only some freezing fog and no real accumulation. To my suprise at about 2 p.m. on Thursday the snow started coming down hard and heavy.

Beth came home early around 3 p.m. and by 5 p.m. we had about an 1 1/2 inches. When the snowed stopped falling late in evening we had a total of over 3 inches. Around 6 p.m. our power went out and luckily our neighbors had a generate they were able to hook up for limited power and heat, so we went over there for a few hours.
It is in the mid 40's today, so most of the snow has melted, but it was nice to get a small taste of what it will be like again to live in the snow belt.

Sick Girl

When I picked Libby up from "school" on Wednesday the "teacher" told me that Libby had woken up from her nap feeling really warm. I didn't think much of it and besides I can never tell when a child has a fever by touching their forehead. Beth was working that night, so we went up to visit her at the hospital. Beth checked her over and found she did have a slight temperature of 101 degrees. Libby laid around the house all day Thursday, hardly playing with any toys, so this morning Beth thought it would be a good idea to bring her in to the doctors. They checked her ears for an infection, her throat for strep, and finally a blood test for a viral illness. Turns out she has a virus. So we are giving her Tylenol (Kroger brand) and plenty of fluids and hopefully in a few days she will be back to her old self.

Past few days have been extra tough since Reagan has started teething. She has one sharp tooth coming through on her bottom gum.

Potty Time Update

On Monday we finally got Libby to wear her "big girl" underwear without throwing a fit. She went about 4 hours without having an accident. So on Tuesday we told her if she went the whole day (except nap time) without having an accident she could get a special toy.

She made it! She picked out this monkey watering can (watermelon can as she calls it). She is very excited about bringing it to Grandma's house to help her water all her flowers.
