Kickin' Back

The other day Libby, who you will notice still sleeps in her carseat, was taking a nap. Beth took this cute picture of her with her foot kicked up in the air. She also did this when she was littlePosted by Picasa

Trucker Bomb

We headed up to Michigan to visit family and friends on Sunday the 22nd at about 3 p.m. Other then raining for the first four hours of driving it was pretty uneventful. Until we drove over the Indiana border. It was about 10 p.m. and Beth was passing a Werner truck. With no regard for anyone's safety the trucker driver threw his jug of urine (a.k.a. Trucker Bomb) out his window and hit our car. It cracked the windshield, rolled over and took out the driver's side mirror and scratched up the driver's side door. Altogether it seems to have done about $1000 worth of damage. After getting all the information off the back of the truck we called the State Police and had an inncident report written up about it. The Officer was not very hopeful that anything could be done about it. When we arrived in Michigan at about 4 a.m. we got a few hours of sleep and then I called Werner to find out what their response to this would be. The lady in Insurance was very helpful and told me to take some pictures and get two estimates and that a claims adjuster would be calling me to get this taken care of. I didn't hear anything from them until the following Saturday when we arrived back in Memphis. They mailed me a letter saying to give Emily Rosenvold a call at my earliest convience. Emily, while not calling me a liar, said that they really can't do anything if the driver denies the incident. She said they are still looking into it and he hasn't responded to her inquries. I asked her why in the world would he admit to doing it, and she said that she doubted he would. And I should probably just contact my insurance company because it is his word against mine.

Feel free to run any Werner Trucks off the road, and be sure to always call the "How Am I Driving" numbers on the back (1-888-Werner) and let them know when they do ANYTHING wrong.

My insurance company is now handling the claim and they are going to go after Werner for the $500 deductible. If they can't collect I will have to pay for it myself.

Rudi's new purchase

When I saw this new invention on TV I immediately thought of Rudi. The Omlet Pan would be a great addition to the Destic's countertop. The great thing about it is that it automatically flips the omlet with the flip of a switch.

Libby's favorite toy

This Playskool Kick-Start Gym is Libbie's new favorite toy. She spends alot of time sitting and laying under it kicking and smiling. No matter how grumpy she is, laying under the Kick-Start Gym will always make her giggle. We can't wait to show her Grandmas and Papas how much fun she has using it. The only downside to it is that it dosen't travel well as it dosen't fold flat. The good news is Libby's Aunt Susan has one at her house that I am sure she will lend to us for the duration of our Michigan trip. Without the Gym, it wouldn't even be worth the 12 hour drive up north.

Once again...Thank you Susan!

Sleeping like an Angel

Libby in her Poodle outfit

Libby wearing this poodle outfit in no way endorses poodles, woodles, or the French.

Where all the magic happens.

On Sunday Beth and I painted our bedroom. Back in October we bought a new duvet cover for our bed. Since it didn't go with the color in the room, Beth decided it need to be repainted. So 3 months after buying paint and putting a test patch on the wall, the room got painted. It looks very nice.

Matthew loves Pokemon

My nephew Matthew loves playing Pokemon. His entire room is filled with Pokemon stuffed animals, cards and pictures. My brother Dan took this video of him singing a song he made up showing his love of Pokemon.

Matthew owns most all of the Pokemon cards except for the elusive Brown Eye-Winkin.

And a second time.....

Wow is there ever egg on my face. When my brother in law Rudi and his wife Errrin were up here in September to meet Libby, we played a few games of Euchre. I made fun of and blogged about Rudi getting euchred when he "went alone". Well last night we were over at Isabelle's house for a evening of fun and Euchre. Damon and I were on a team playing against Beth and Jen when it happened again. I went alone and got euchred. In my defense:

1. A few hands before I had gone alone with a five hearts and gotten 4 points.
2. Damon and I were up by like 8 points already
3. I was half way through my second Zima of the evening (the only adult beverage that Damon
and Jen keep in their house)

Well it all ended ok and we beat the girls 3 games out of 4.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Elvis. Today was the 5oth anniversary of his 21st birthday. There was a huge celebration here in Memphis. They even close down Elvis Presley Blvd to help contain the throngs of people who show up at Graceland.

Also it is my brother in law Rudi's wife Errin's birthday.

Dance, Dance, Dance

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Paul and Laura, have been holding out on me. When ever I go over there to visit I always have to B.Y.O.B. Apparently they must have alot of booze laying around now. Because my brother Dan only dances (to the song I'm to Sexy) when he is three sheets to the wind. So he must have had quite a few jello-shots to dance like that over at Paul and Laura's.

On a MUCH cuter note, click here to watch a video of my niece Elise showing everyone how to bust a move on the dancing pad.

Libby is now starting to take after her brother and sister (Stretch and Zoe) when it comes to eating food. According to her four-legged siblings, food is something to inhale as fast as you can. Today Libby polished off a bowl of delicious rice cereal and Gerber sweet potatoes in about 4 minutes flat. She then chased it with about an oz. and a half of formula. As a show of courtesy to the chef, she then belched. If you would like to watch a video of the piglet in action, click here.
